Are You Wearing the Right Bra Size?
The average woman owns about six bras. Unfortunately, most of them probably aren't the best fit. According to Oprah, up to 85% of women aren't wearing the right bra for their breasts. So, let's get to business and get you into the right fitting bra.
The key to finding the perfect bra is to get properly measured. Some department stores, (like Macy's), are now offering this service. Also, a decent lingerie store will gladly fit you free of charge. (My sister was fit at Victoria Secret, no charge). If you're going to fit yourself, use a flexible measuring tape while wearing either a non-padded bra that fits decently or without one at all.
You need two measurements: the first being around the part of your ribcage that is directly underneath your breasts. This number is your band size. (If you wear a band size that's too small, you end up with that terrible 'bra bulge'- quickly solved by wearing a bra by Sassybax). Next, measure around your breasts at their fullest point,(probably the nipple), for your bust size.
The math: To find your cup size, subtract your band size from your bust size. The remaining number corresponds with your cup size.
