Ode to the Tankini

Ode to the Tankini
By Anne Clarke

Let heaven shine down upon whomever invented the tankini – it is the perfect mix between a one-piece swimming suit and a bikini. A tankini is like the offspring of a loving bikini/one-piece couple.

Well, enough with that, let us talk more about the tankini. A woman should be able to wear whatever she wants to the beach – there are no age limits or size limits on who can wear bikinis and who cannot. A woman should be able to wear whatever she feels comfortable in.

Of course, unfortunately, some women do not always feel comfortable wearing a bikini – a bikini expose so much skin (and bulges beneath that skin!) Even women who felt perfectly comfortable wearing a bikini, even a string bikini, in their youth may not feel so comfortable wearing a bikini after having a couple of children. This, in no way, means that a woman should not be allowed to wear a one. Again, a woman should wear whatever she feels comfortable wearing.

Tankinis are great alternatives to bikinis. Many more woman are likely to feel more comfortable with themselves in one rather than a bikini. And why shouldn’t they? A tankini can be very flattering on most women.

A tankini is great because it is more modest than a bikini. Also, it has a bit more flair than most one-piece swimming suits. Another great thing about tankinis is that if you still want to tan your entire stomach, you simply need to roll up your tankini top to expose your belly as you lay out in the sun. Just try to do that with a one-piece!

A woman will feel most comfortable in a tankini not just because she knows she looks good, but because a tankini is also comfortable in a physical sense, as well. Most women are not used to having to put on a anything like a one-piece suit during an average day. Women are, on the other hand, used to pulling on a pair of underwear and a tank top, though. And this is pretty much what a tankini looks and feels like. Also, a tankini stays in place better than a bikini. You do not need to worry about those waves crashing down on you and stealing your suit!

Tankinis come in a wide variety of styles, just as bikinis and other swimming suits do. You can find ones that pretty much cover your entire stomach or tankini tops that end well above the belly button. There are tankinis with a bandeau top style and ones that come with boy short bottoms or string bikini bottoms. There are tankinis that come in a variety of fabrics as well – the patterns on the fabric of a tankini can be more exciting and brilliant than those of a bikini because, well, there is more fabric to work with.

Before you decide to hide at home and not go out to the beach at all this year because you do not want to put on a bikini or a frumpy one-piece (although, there are very cute one-piece swimsuits out there!), try on a tankini. It might just be the answer to all of your prayers. Besides, they are also very trendy right now, so you know that you will be in fashion when you wear one!

Underwire Bikini Tops

Underwire Bikini Tops - the Perfect Swim Top for Both Small and Large Bust Sizes
By Anne Clarke

Underwire bikini tops are fantastic for both those who are a little-smaller-on-top and those who are a bit busty on top. Underwire bikini tops both enhance what you have and offer added support.

An underwire bikini top, especially one in a demi cut, can really enhance the chest of a woman with a smaller breast size. A demi cut resembles a bra, but it is not a full cup. A demi cup with a little bit of padding can offer a woman the cleavage she never knew she had! If you are smaller on top, it is also a good idea to look for swimsuits that offer texture like ruffles. It is also good to wear a suit with an interesting pattern – something that will deflect attention away from your bust.

An underwire bikini top is also great for women with large busts. It is about time that swimsuit designers started offering both bikinis and one-piece swimming suits with bra-style support. Heaven knows that women need that support just as much, if not more, when out playing on the beach or in the water. Women with large busts should wear bikini tops with hidden underwire for that necessary, extra support. If a woman wants to minimize her bustline, she can wear a swimsuit with a straight cut across the top with wide set straps.

You can pick out an underwire bikini top in the same way that you would pick out an underwire bra. A bikini top with a floating underwire is best – an underwire that moves with you. Also, be sure that you do not choose a bikini top with an underwire that digs into you, just because it is cute. You will not think it is so cute once you have to spend all day feeling uncomfortable, and your welt will not be so cute, either!

And, just like with underwire bras, do not stick your underwire bikini top into the washing machine and dryer – for one thing, it is not good for the material (it will make your swimsuit wear out sooner), and also it could cause the underwire to come loose and move around to places you do not want it to be. Overall, if you are looking for a flattering swimsuit that gives support as well, try an underwire bikini top.

Buying a Bikini Swimsuit

Buying a Bikini Swimsuit Ideal For Your Body
By Luvi Marie Corcuera

Of all the swimwear products a woman could have, "Bikini Swimsuit" is one of the scariest words in many women's vocabulary, and not because they are hard to get or difficult to use but because the right type of swimsuit is needed to fit each particular body. However if you know what to look for, then almost any body type can look good in a bikini swimsuit. Each woman should learn how to cover the flaws and flaunt your body.

There are various ways to ensure that you use the appropriate bikini swimsuit that would fit your body and make you look as good in it as you should depending on the characteristics of your body shape and size of your breasts and bottoms. By checking your body features with the descriptions and recommendations below you should be able to determine what works out best for you.

Having Small Breasts

In high school, having small breasts may have brought you jeers and perhaps reduced your self confidence, but today designers readily glorify the small breast particularly on the runway. A great majority of their bikini models that take to the ramp in fashion shows have small breast and show them off proudly. The way to enhance small breasts would be to buy bikini swimsuits that are designed with sequins, ruffles and other different decorations that tend to add an additional layer of fabric on the swimsuit. This gives a nice little illusion that your breasts are fuller. The use of triangular string bikinis also add to this illusion and enhances the look with more fullness of the breasts, the smaller the triangular fabric the larger the breast will look.

Having Large Breasts

While women with large breast are not often heard complaining, there are some that do simply because of some special problems that may arise with having a well endowed front, especially when shopping for a bikini swimsuit. One of the main problems that women with large breasts have is the support and the comfort that the bikini tops provides to them. The best way to get around this problem is to wear bikini tops with underwire which will provide some support in addition to have a little more full coverage of the breasts to give a better comfort level.

Should you want to draw attention away from your breasts, then the best way is to ensure that your bottoms are eye-catching in some way such as having more details on the bikini bottoms than on the tops. Coordinating the use of a scarf around the hip of your bikini bottoms gives you a way to look more stylish and draw additional attention. Whether you are endowed with a small or a large butt, there are a few simple ways to enhance your look in a bikini by choosing the bikini bottom that will make you stand out even more.

Having a Small Butt

In general, small butts don't appear as a problem for most people but to those that are concerned then the easiest way to calm your fears with the choice of a bikini swimsuit you should know the following information:

  • Thongs and triangular bikini bottoms tend make your butt flatter than brief type bikini bottoms
  • Additional decorations to the bikini bottoms enhances its shape
  • The use of ruffles will help fill out a rump that is lacking in flesh.
Having Large Bottoms

For those that have more bottom than they would wish to have, what is important is to draw attention away from your butt and more to your top. By mixing and matching the color combinations of your bikini swimsuits to give a light to dark contrast between your bottoms and your tops, this gives you the ability to draw more attention to your tops by making your tops a lot more brighter and eye-catching and making the bottoms a little darker. The brighter the top is the more likely this will draw the greater attention than your bikini bottoms.

Conclusion

Whatever your body type is, by simply mixing and matching different combinations of your bikini tops and bottoms with various styles, you will be able to enhance your look to be the one that is best suited to you and make you look so much more sexy in a bikini swimsuit. Whether you have a small butt, large bottoms small or large breasts, you just simply buy the sizes that gives more emphasis on your figure and shape.

The bottom line is to wear what you are most comfortable in and be as hot as you can.
